These
prints are copies of the original pieces I created for the exhibition
and ongoing project 'Isthmus' with Medina Whiteman. Created with
watercolour and gold leaf on hemp paper

This art project was born
from immersion in the Mediterranean landscapes of the Alpujarra
mountains near Granada, and draws on the knowledge of Andalusi land
stewards, medieval manuscript art, and the Andalusian mystics' practise
of contemplating Nature.

In Isthmus, we have imaginatively
given voice not only to the often-overlooked plants of this biosphere,
who transmit urgent messages about the need for self-knowledge, how to
live in scarcity, and compassion for all, but also the Andalusi feminine
voice that has been unilaterally erased by history.
